Heritage Foundation Schools Trophy & Junior Coaching Programme

Letchworth Golf Club, with the support of the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, are proud to host the Heritage Trophy each May. This competition has been running since 2008 and  has proved to be a successful event in the sports calendars of all our local primary schools.   
The aim of the competition is to introduce local children to the game of golf by enabling them to take part in various fun golfing activities, along with experiencing the ambience of a golf club. The event is followed by supper and prize giving in the clubhouse.

This event follows nicely into our Junior Coaching Programme at the club where we offer subsidised coaching throughout the year for all Letchworth Golf Club Junior members.

About the Programme - 2025 was our 4th year of running the Junior Coaching Programme at Letchworth Golf Club. From what started as an in-school coaching offer in late 2021, to where we are now has been a huge team effort.

The aim of this programme - to make golf more inclusive for all and support the pathway of those juniors interested. Every year we look to build and develop this programme to make it a better experience for our members.

We have an extremely strong PGA Professional Team in place at Letchworth and therefore, the offer to our Junior Members will be built on quality and developing all Juniors into confident main course golfers. Hopefully, going on to represent Letchworth Golf Club at future external events.

The programme has always been supported by numerous external organisations like Golf Foundation and Hertfordshire Golf, but the club are in an extremely lucky position to be linked closely with the Mike Amos Letchworth Golf Foundation (MALGF) who support this programme financially every year.

The MALGF together with the Golf Club and PGA Professional Team, have built a coaching programme that will not only encourage and inspire the next generation of golfers, but be engaging and active!
